The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed the Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), Mr. Michael Ango, in a decisive shake-up of the revenue agency.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Friday by Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Public Communications and Social Media.
According to Olayinka, “the Minister has relieved Mr. Michael Ango of his position as Acting Executive Chairman of the FCT-IRS.”
He added that Wike has directed the most senior official within the agency to immediately assume leadership responsibilities.
“The most senior officer of the FCT-IRS has been instructed to take over the running of the revenue agency with immediate effect,” Olayinka stated.
The statement did not provide further details on the reasons for the minister’s decision.
