Fidelity Advert

The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested two suspected kidnappers who allegedly developed romantic attachments to their victims during captivity, leading to their eventual capture.

The suspects were accused of abducting two married women and subjecting them to sexual assault while the victims were held hostage.

Police sources said the women, in a desperate bid to survive, pretended to reciprocate the suspects’ advances during their captivity. They reportedly acted as though they were enjoying the encounters, a move that eventually led to the exchange of phone numbers between them and their captors.

After regaining their freedom, the victims allegedly maintained communication with the suspects, carefully sustaining the false romantic interest.

On Tuesday, the women reportedly arranged a meeting with the suspects under the pretext of a romantic rendezvous. Unknown to the suspects, security operatives had already been alerted and were monitoring the plan.

Acting on the intelligence, police operatives moved in and arrested the two suspects at the agreed meeting point, bringing the unusual case to a dramatic end.

The police have since taken the suspects into custody, while investigations continue to uncover the full details of the abduction and other possible criminal activities linked to the suspects.
