A yet-to-be-identified housewife from the Isoko ethnic nationality in Delta State has been arrested for allegedly killing her husband and another woman believed to be his lover, in a violent domestic incident that has shocked the community.

A community source disclosed that the suspect, a mother of two, had on several occasions accused her husband of infidelity, a development that reportedly fueled persistent tension in the marriage.

The woman is currently being held in custody at the Ughelli Area Police Command of the Delta State Police, where she is undergoing interrogation.

According to reports, the tragic incident occurred in the Ighwre-Ovie area of Ughelli North Local Government Area following prolonged marital disputes linked to the husband’s alleged extramarital relationships.

It was gathered that on the day of the incident, the husband returned home allegedly intoxicated, leading to a heated confrontation between the couple, which escalated into violence and resulted in his death.

The source further revealed that during the altercation, a female neighbour who attempted to intervene was attacked and sustained serious injuries. She was said to have been rushed to a nearby hospital, where she is currently receiving medical treatment.

It was also alleged that the suspect later proceeded to the residence of another woman within the same community, believed to be her husband’s lover, where she allegedly attacked and killed her.

Another resident reportedly escaped unhurt after raising an alarm, which attracted members of the community and led to the suspect’s arrest.

Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Bright Edafe, said the suspect is presently being interrogated in connection with the incident.
