The Managing Director of Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd, Architect Chibuikem Onyekachi Emmanuel, has described the real estate sector as one of Nigeria’s strongest tools for tackling youth unemployment, urging young people across the country to take advantage of opportunities within the industry to build sustainable livelihoods.
He made the call on Friday during the company’s mid-year Realtors Fest/Meet and Greet held at its South East regional office in Independence Layout, Enugu, where he encouraged youths from across the 36 states of the federation to embrace real estate as a pathway to financial independence and national development.
According to him, Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd has remained committed to changing the narrative in the real estate sector by ensuring that clients, realtors, partners, and stakeholders receive full value for their investment, effort, and service delivery.
He noted that the current economic realities in the country have made survival difficult for many Nigerians, particularly young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, warning that such hardship could push some into crime and other social vices if sustainable alternatives are not provided.
Architect Onyekachi said the company has acquired properties across Nigeria as well as in countries such as Kenya and Rwanda, creating opportunities for hardworking youths to earn a living through strategic marketing and property sales.
He stressed that many young Nigerians have already transformed their lives through the platform and called on others to seize the same opportunity.
He said the company remains focused on building a transparent and inclusive real estate ecosystem where young people can access opportunities regardless of their social or economic background.

According to him, Powell Homes is also investing heavily in training, mentorship, and support systems aimed at wealth creation and career development for realtors.
He said, “Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd is not just a real estate company; it is a movement aimed at redefining how business is done in Nigeria. We believe in integrity, accountability, and rewarding hard work.
“Our doors are open to every young Nigerian willing to learn and grow. Through dedication and consistency, anyone can build a sustainable income stream here.
“We are committed to supporting our realtors with the right tools, training, properties for sale, and also the environment needed to succeed and become financially independent in today’s challenging economy.”
Also speaking, the Manager of Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd, Surveyor Steve Ibaro, said the initiative was created to bring young realtors closer to life-changing opportunities and help them build stable careers in the real estate industry.
He explained that the company had developed a structure that supports both new and experienced realtors, enabling them to succeed through discipline, consistency, and proper guidance.
According to him, young people can leverage the platform provided by Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd to attain financial stability and long-term success.

Surveyor Ibaro urged realtors and other stakeholders in the industry to remain focused and committed to the process, assuring them that success is achievable within the system created by the company.
The Realtors Fest/Meet and Greet also served as an interactive session where participants asked questions about the real estate industry, gained deeper knowledge of available properties under Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd, and received rewards for their hard work and dedication.
Many participants went home with gift items including fans, blenders, and other household appliances as part of the empowerment initiative.
