The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has released its timetable for the 2026 primary elections, setting May 25 for its presidential primary and outlining a detailed schedule for all elective positions.
In a statement dated May 2026, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the timetable reflects the party’s commitment to transparency and due process.
“The timetable reflects our party’s commitment to internal democracy, orderliness, and full compliance with electoral guidelines,” he said.
According to the schedule, the sale of nomination forms will run from May 5 to May 10, while submission of completed forms is fixed for May 11 to May 13.
Screening of aspirants is slated for May 14 to May 15, with results to be published on May 17. Appeals will be heard between May 18 and May 19, while the final list of cleared candidates will be released on May 20.
Primary elections for State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate seats will be conducted simultaneously at the ward level on May 21, followed by governorship primaries on May 22.
The party’s presidential primary is scheduled for May 25, ahead of a National Executive Committee meeting on May 26 and a Special National Convention on May 27 for final ratifications.
Abdullahi also announced the approved fees for nomination forms across elective offices, with the presidential form pegged at ₦100 million, governorship at ₦50 million, Senate at ₦20 million, House of Representatives at ₦10 million, and State House of Assembly at ₦3 million.
“In line with our commitment to inclusivity and broad participation, we have also approved a structured fee regime for nomination forms across all elective positions,” he stated.
He added that the party had introduced concessions to encourage wider participation.
“To encourage wider participation, we have introduced concessional rates, offering a 50 percent discount for youths and a 25 percent discount for women and persons with disabilities.”

The ADC urged members, aspirants, and stakeholders to strictly adhere to the timetable and guidelines as preparations for the primaries intensify.
