The Anambra State House of Assembly has received the first batch of commissioner nominees submitted by Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for screening and confirmation.

The nominees were formally presented during Tuesday’s plenary session, presided over by the Speaker, Somtochukwu Nkem Udeze.

According to a statement issued by the Speaker’s Special Assistant on New Media, Franklin Osankwa, the Speaker subsequently referred the list to the House Committee on Screening and Election Matters for further legislative action.

“Mr. Speaker has thus referred the following names to the Committee on Screening and Election Matters,” the statement noted.

The nominees and their designated portfolios include:

1. Agriculture — Dr. Ben Chuks Odoemena
2. Budget and Economic Planning— Mr. Chukwukadibia Okoye, FCCA
3. Culture, Entertainment and Tourism — Mr. Udoji Amedu
4. Education — Dr. Ekene Ogugua
5. Environment — Dr. Clem Aguiyi
6. Finance — Mr. Izuchukwu M. Okafor

7. Health — Dr. Afam Obidike
8. Information and Value Reformation — Dr. Law Mefor
9. Justice/Attorney-General — Barr. Tobechukwu Nweke, SAN
10. Lands — Prof. Offornze Amucheazi, SAN
11. Local Government and Community Affairs— Barr. Vin Ezeaka
12. Petroleum and Mineral Resources — Prof. Charles Ofoegbu

13. Physical Planning and Urban Development — Barr. Chijioke Oseloka Ojukwu
14. Power — Engr. Casmir Chinenye Agummadu
15. Works and Infrastructure — Arc. Okey Ezeobi
16. Transport — Hon. Eddy Ibuzo

The development marks the commencement of the confirmation process for members of the State Executive Council, as the Assembly begins legislative scrutiny of the nominees in line with constitutional provisions.
