The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nkanu West Local Government Area has unveiled Hon. Ifeanyichukwu Nnamani (B.Sc., M.Sc., ANIPR, MCPA) as its consensus candidate for the Enugu State House of Assembly seat ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Nnamani, a native of Agbani in Nkanu West LGA, is widely described within party circles as a young, progressive politician with strong grassroots appeal and a multidisciplinary background spanning governance, academia, and the extractive industry.
He is an accomplished scholar and an Australian-certified surface coal mine expert. He previously served as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Enugu State and currently leads Earthcore Mining and Energy Resources Limited, an indigenous firm engaged in solid minerals and coal exploration.
According to party stakeholders, his emergence as consensus candidate reflects a deliberate effort to present a technocratic and development-oriented aspirant capable of combining professional expertise with legislative responsibility.
They also highlight his experience in both the public and private sectors as a key advantage in representing the constituency effectively at the state legislature.
Nnamani’s supporters describe him as a candidate with youthful energy, administrative experience, and a clear development-focused agenda for Nkanu West.
His legislative blueprint is anchored on a four-point agenda aimed at addressing key constituency needs, including healthcare intervention, educational support, youth and social development programmes, and agricultural empowerment initiatives.
The agenda, according to his campaign team, is designed to promote people-oriented legislation and deliver practical solutions to challenges facing residents of the constituency.
Party leaders and supporters have since called on stakeholders across Nkanu West to rally behind his candidacy as preparations intensify ahead of the election season.
