The media team of Hon. Uche Ben Odunzeh, a frontline aspirant for the Imo West Senatorial seat on the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has condemned the circulation of what it described as fake Artificial Intelligence-generated images allegedly created to damage his political reputation ahead of the 2027 elections.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Comrade Gregory Chidalu, the team described the viral images circulating on social media as “misleading, politically motivated and unconstitutional.”

The statement insisted that the images being shared online do not represent the true identity or appearance of the politician and were allegedly fabricated by political opponents seeking to undermine his growing influence within the NDC.

“We hereby categorically reject and condemn the said AI picture publication in its entirety,” the statement read.

“The background picture used in the post is AI-generated by political enemies who are bent on tarnishing his image as a tool and technique to advance their unmerited aspiration.”

The media team further alleged that the circulation of the manipulated images was part of a broader attempt by political rivals to clone and sabotage Odunzeh’s movement ahead of the 2027 political activities in Imo State.

“This is a desperate attempt to clone Hon. Uche Ben Odunzeh’s movement. Certain political elements will do everything possible to compromise technology for ulterior motives,” the statement added.

The group maintained that the images were fabricated for entertainment and creative purposes and should not be mistaken as authentic representations of the aspirant.

“The pictures in the content are not real and do not in any way resemble Hon. Uche Ben Odunzeh. They were only made to entertain viewers, show creativity and artistic purpose,” it stated.

The statement also warned individuals behind the circulation of the AI-generated content to desist from such actions or risk legal consequences.

Supporters, party faithful and members of the public were urged not to spread unverified information or believe everything seen online.

Odunzeh’s team reaffirmed his commitment to pursuing what it described as “purposeful leadership” for the Orlu zone and called on supporters to remain calm, peaceful and focused.

“Every attempt to mislead or tarnish the reputation of this progressive-minded frontline aspirant ahead of the 2027 political activities will ultimately fail,” the statement declared.
