Former Governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Orji Uzor Kalu, has lauded the administration of Ahmed Aliyu for prioritising infrastructure development, following the commissioning of the Arkilla Roads Network in Sokoto State.
Kalu, who disclosed the development in a post on his Facebook page on Tuesday, described the road project as a major milestone that would enhance transportation, connect communities and stimulate economic growth across the state.
“Today, I had the honour of commissioning the Arkilla Roads Network in Sokoto State, a major infrastructure project executed by the administration of Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto,” Kalu stated.
According to the senator, the project underscores the governor’s commitment to improving the living conditions of residents through strategic infrastructure investments.
“The project reflects the governor’s commitment to improving transportation, opening up communities and creating opportunities for economic growth and development,” he said.
Kalu also used the occasion to acknowledge the contributions of former Sokoto State Governor and serving senator, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, whom he described as a key figure in the state’s development journey.
“I was delighted to share this moment with my colleague and former Governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, whose leadership contributed significantly to the development of the state,” he noted.
The former Abia governor commended Governor Aliyu for what he described as his commitment to good governance and people-oriented projects, stressing that infrastructure remains essential to sustainable development.
“I commend Governor Ahmed Aliyu for his dedication to good governance and people-centred projects. Infrastructure remains a critical driver of economic growth, social development and prosperity,” Kalu said.
He further congratulated the government and people of Sokoto State on the completion of the project, describing it as a significant achievement for the state.
“Congratulations to the government and good people of Sokoto State on this remarkable achievement,” he added.
The commissioning of the Arkilla Roads Network is part of ongoing efforts by the Sokoto State Government to improve road connectivity, boost economic activities and enhance access to communities across the state.
