The family of the late Mrs. Modesta Ijeoma Obieze (JP), née Amalu, has announced plans for her final burial, with funeral rites scheduled to culminate on July 10, 2026, in Akama-Oghe, Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The burial programme was released by her son, Rt. Hon. Barr. Chima Obieze, the member representing Ezeagu Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly.

Mrs. Obieze, who passed away at the age of 75, was the wife of the late Pa Benedict Maduabuchi Obieze-Onyibo of Okunito-Mgbago, Imama Akama-Oghe. She is survived by children, grandchildren, relatives and numerous loved ones.

According to the funeral arrangements announced by the family, activities will commence on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, with a wake-keep at Camp of Grace, Akama-Oghe.

The final burial rites will take place on Friday, July 10, when her remains will leave the Good Shepherd Mortuary for her family home in Akama-Oghe, with a brief stop at her father’s residence.

A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Akama-Oghe, after which she will be laid to rest at her residence. Guests and well-wishers will thereafter be entertained at a reception holding at Camp of Grace, Akama-Oghe.

The funeral activities will conclude on Sunday, July 12, 2026, with a Thanksgiving Mass at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Akama-Oghe.

Family members described the deceased as a devoted wife, loving mother, caring grandmother and a woman of unwavering Christian faith whose life was marked by service, humility and dedication to her family and community.

Praying for the repose of her soul, the family said: “May her peaceful soul rest in perfect peace.”
