President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a fresh round of appointments into key federal agencies, naming former House of Representatives spokesman, Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas, as the new Director-General of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA).

The President also appointed former Edo lawmaker, Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon, as Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), while reappointing former Anambra federal lawmaker, Mr. Chukwuma Umeoji, as Executive Director, Corporate Services, of the company.

The appointments were announced in a State House statement issued on Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, Namdas succeeds Dr. Dakorinama Alabo George, who resigned his position to pursue an elective office in his home state.

Before his appointment, Namdas represented Ganye/Jada/Mayo Belwa/Toungo Federal Constituency of Adamawa State in the House of Representatives, where he served as spokesperson of the 8th House.

He also contested in the recently concluded governorship primary election in Adamawa State.

A seasoned journalist and public relations practitioner, Namdas previously served as Chief Press Secretary to former Adamawa State Governor, Boni Haruna.

The President also approved the appointment of Patrick Obahiagbon as Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company.

Obahiagbon replaces Engineer Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who resigned from the position to pursue his political ambition in Edo State.

A former member of both the Edo State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives, Obahiagbon is widely known for his legislative experience and distinctive style of public communication.

In the same vein, President Tinubu reappointed Chukwuma Umeoji as Executive Director, Corporate Services, of the NDPHC.

Umeoji, who represented Aguata Federal Constituency of Anambra State in the 9th House of Representatives, returns to the position after previously resigning to contest for political office in his home state.

According to Onanuga, “All appointments are effective immediately.”
