The Benue State Police Command says it has arrested 10 suspects in connection with the killing of the state Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Ardo Risku Mohammed, and another victim, Yakubu Isa, in what authorities described as a major breakthrough in the investigation.

The Command disclosed that the arrests followed an intelligence-led operation by its tactical teams in Otukpo Local Government Area, where detectives tracked down suspects believed to have participated in the deadly attack.

According to the police, the operation was launched after painstaking investigations into the killings, leading to the apprehension of the 10 suspects, while efforts have been intensified to arrest other fleeing members of the criminal network.

The Command noted that the investigation remains ongoing and assured the public that all those linked to the attack would be identified and brought to justice.

Commending the operatives for the successful operation, the Commissioner of Police praised their professionalism and swift response, describing the arrests as a significant step toward ensuring justice for the victims.

The police chief also reassured residents of the Command’s commitment to tackling violent crimes across the state and urged members of the public to remain calm and law-abiding.

He further appealed to citizens to continue supporting security agencies by providing credible and timely information that could assist ongoing investigations and aid the arrest of other suspects still at large.
