A community leader in Enugu State and Secretary General of the Ogbaku Town General Assembly, Chukwuemeka Okolie, popularly known as Ogbuefi Ahuwaluezeama, has called on residents of the state to rally behind Chief Obodoeze Chukwuma Ocho ahead of the 2027 governorship election, describing him as a leader capable of advancing development and improving the welfare of the people.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Okolie urged the people of Enugu State to support Obodoeze’s aspiration, saying the state needs leadership that will place the interests of the people at the centre of governance and accelerate economic growth.
Addressing residents across the 17 local government areas of the state, the community leader said the 2027 election presents an opportunity for Ndi Enugu to embrace a vision of renewed hope and inclusive development.
“I address you today not as a politician, but as a son of the soil, a community leader, and Secretary General of Ogbaku Town General Assembly,” he said.
Okolie noted that many families, business owners and young people in the state are looking forward to policies that will expand economic opportunities, strengthen infrastructure and create a more prosperous future.
He said Chief Obodoeze possesses the experience, compassion and vision needed to lead the state on a path of sustainable development.
“Chief Obodoeze is not a stranger to our aspirations. He is a man of the people, with a proven heart for service and a clear vision to move Enugu State forward.”
According to him, an Obodoeze administration would prioritise economic revival through policies that support farmers, traders and small businesses while creating a more enabling environment for investment.
He also expressed confidence that the governorship hopeful would pursue people-oriented programmes, expand youth empowerment initiatives, improve infrastructure and strengthen access to quality healthcare and education.
“With his emergence, Ndi Enugu can expect economic revival, people-first governance, youth empowerment, improved infrastructure and security, as well as affordable healthcare and quality education.”
The Ogbaku Town General Assembly Secretary General stressed that the election should be seen as an opportunity to shape the future of the state through the ballot.
“This election is about the future of Enugu State and the generations to come.”
He therefore appealed to eligible voters across the state, both at home and in the diaspora, to give their support to the governorship ambition of Chief Obodoeze Chukwuma Ocho.
“Therefore, I urge all Ndi Enugu—men, women, youths, elders, in the diaspora and at home—to come out en masse in 2027 and vote for Chief Obodoeze Chukwuma Ocho.”
Reaffirming his confidence in the APC governorship aspirant, Okolie called on residents to unite behind what he described as a shared vision for a more prosperous Enugu State.
“Let us embrace hope. Let us build a new Enugu together. Ka anyị wuo Enugu ọhụrụ. Ka anyị weghachite ọnọdụ dị mma. Obodoeze is the answer,” he said.
