The lawyer to controversial disc jockey and TikTok personality, Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, has alleged that his client was arrested over a viral video in which he made remarks about President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu.

Rotimi Stephen made the claim in a video posted on his Instagram page on Thursday, alleging that DJ Chicken was apprehended in Ikeja, Lagos, and is currently being held by security authorities.

According to Stephen, the entertainer was initially taken to the Ikeja Police Headquarters, although he believes operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) are behind the arrest.

“So, DJ Chicken is now with the authorities. He was arrested at Ikeja and he is now at Ikeja Police headquarters but I am very sure it is the DSS. He was arrested in connection with the statement he made some days ago about the son of the president, Seyi Tinubu,” the lawyer alleged.

Stephen appealed to the Presidency and supporters of the social media personality to forgive him, describing DJ Chicken as someone with mental health challenges whom he had been assisting over the years.

“Please, fans and well-wishers. People that like Chicken and people that are close with the Presidency, please forgive Chicken. He is not that okay. We are just managing him. Chicken is my own personal project. It is my own part of giving back to the society.

“I just picked interest in him as a criminal lawyer. We are just managing him and he knows. He is still part of the society. We are begging please. Government should please forgive him. We will do everything,” he pleaded.

The lawyer also expressed uncertainty over the next legal steps.

“I don’t know what to do again. They should please,” he added.

DJ Chicken recently sparked outrage after a video surfaced online in which he made inflammatory remarks about Seyi Tinubu.

Speaking in Yoruba, the content creator said:

“Tinubu, you can’t win the election. If you win, I will kill Seyi Tinubu. I won’t say more than that.”

The video quickly went viral across social media platforms, attracting widespread reactions.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the Nigeria Police Force nor the Department of State Services had officially confirmed DJ Chicken’s alleged arrest or disclosed whether any investigation had been launched in connection with the viral video.
