The self-acclaimed Director-General of the controversial and allegedly non-existent Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Adeniyi Adeyemi, has been arrested.

Adeyemi’s arrest came on Tuesday, shortly after Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja issued a bench warrant directing security agencies to apprehend him over his failure to appear for arraignment on charges bordering on conspiracy, forgery and impersonation.

The arrest followed the court’s ruling after the prosecution informed the judge that Adeyemi was absent when his case was called. The court subsequently ordered his immediate arrest to ensure his appearance before the court.

Further details surrounding the arrest are expected to emerge.
