The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the death of its Enugu State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Franklin Agbakoba.
The corps announced his passing in a statement issued on Friday by the Deputy Corps Commander in charge of Operations in Enugu State, DCC Kyrian Okolo.
According to the statement, Agbakoba died on Thursday, July 30, while receiving medical treatment at the Niger Foundation Hospital in Enugu.
“FRSC Enugu State Sector Command received the sad news of the demise of C.C. Franklin Agbakoba on Thursday, July 30, 2026,” the statement read.
It added, “The late Sector Commander died at Niger Foundation Hospital, Enugu where he was receiving treatment.”
The FRSC also disclosed that his remains have been deposited at the Eastern Medical Centre, Enugu.
“His corpse has been deposited at the Eastern Medical Center, Enugu,” the statement said.
The corps paid tribute to the late sector commander, describing him as an officer who left a lasting impact through collaboration with sister security agencies and his commitment to road safety in Enugu State.
“Until his death, C.C. Franklin Agbakoba made inter-agency collaboration and partnership his legacy and promoted safer roads within Enugu State,” the statement added.
Agbakoba’s death has thrown the FRSC family and stakeholders in the transport sector into mourning, with colleagues remembering him for his dedication to safer roads and stronger collaboration among security and emergency response agencies in Enugu State.
