Chairman of S.Mobile Group, Dr. Kingsley Ifeanyi Adonu, has urged Nigerian youths to shun cultism, drug abuse, internet fraud and other social vices, while embracing technology, skills acquisition and self-development to build a better future.
Adonu made the call in a statement issued on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, to mark the 2026 International Youth Day, describing young Nigerians as a critical force in the country’s economic and social development.
He said the energy, creativity and innovative capacity of Nigerian youths could be harnessed to drive meaningful transformation if properly channelled.
The S.Mobile Group chairman, however, cautioned youths against negative peer pressure and activities capable of jeopardising their future, urging them to pursue legitimate opportunities that would equip them with relevant knowledge, skills and experience.
Adonu particularly encouraged young Nigerians to leverage technology for personal development, entrepreneurship and economic empowerment, noting that the expanding digital economy offers opportunities for young people to acquire skills, establish businesses, access markets and develop sustainable sources of income.
He also disclosed that S.Mobile Group is preparing to launch the S.Mobile Agent App, a digital platform designed to facilitate airtime purchases, internet subscriptions and bill payments while offering benefits to users and agents.
According to him, the platform is expected to create additional opportunities for young Nigerians to participate in the digital services ecosystem and potentially earn incentives through their activities on the platform.
Adonu urged youths to take advantage of emerging technological opportunities rather than engaging in activities that could undermine their prospects.
He further called on them to cultivate discipline, acquire relevant skills and remain committed to legitimate pathways to achieving their ambitions.
“As we celebrate International Youth Day, I urge Nigerian youths to believe in themselves, embrace technology and continuously invest in their personal development. The future belongs to those who prepare for it today,” Adonu said.
He reiterated S.Mobile Group’s commitment to initiatives promoting youth empowerment, technological advancement and economic inclusion, while wishing Nigerian youths a productive and inspiring International Youth Day celebration.
