Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has approved the appointment of 23 new political aides, comprising nine Special Advisers (SAs) and 14 Senior Special Assistants (SSAs).
The appointments, which take effect immediately, were contained in a public service announcement issued on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, by the Secretary to the Enugu State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia.
The new appointments cut across key areas including labour, agriculture, infrastructure, investment, rural development, party mobilisation, monitoring and evaluation, heritage, tourism, public affairs, communication, asset management and human resources.
Among those appointed as Special Advisers are Hon. Chukwudi Ezinwa, Special Adviser on Labour Union and Association Matters; Hon. Sunday Nnamani (Orlando), Special Adviser on Special Duties; Mr. Williams Chukwu, Special Adviser on Agriculture; and Prince Afam Agana, Special Adviser on Infrastructure Compliance.
Others are Humphrey Onyima, Special Adviser on Investment Strategy and Public Relations; Hon. Tony Ugwu, Special Adviser on Rural Development; Chief Ernest Nweze, Special Adviser on Party Coordination and Mobilisation; Hon. Emeka Onunze, Special Adviser on Monitoring and Evaluation; and Mr. Robinson Odo (mni), Special Adviser on Labour and Productivity.
The governor also appointed Pastor Kenneth Asogwa (Ebube Muonso) as Senior Special Assistant on Heritage and Community Relations, alongside Pastor Tochukwu Ogbodo, SSA on Social Engagement; Barr. Lucky Chukwu, SSA on Public Affairs; Belonwu Nnaji, SSA on Cultural Orientation; and Hon. Steve Odo, SSA on Tourism.
Other appointees are Hon. Francis Ikewette Ede, SSA on Public Communication; Mr. Sunny Okafor, SSA on General Duties; Hon. Chinedu Okwu Otaka, SSA on Social Orientation and Mobilisation; Otaba Cosmas Ikechukwu, SSA on Protection of Public Utilities; and Pius Okeagu, SSA on Assets Management.
The list further includes Rt. Hon. Innocent Emeka Ugwu, SSA on Inter-Party Affairs; Mrs. Eucharia Offor, SSA on Human Resource Management; Mr. Kenneth Oforma, SSA on Policy and Communication; and Kelvin Ede, SSA on Research and Strategy.
