Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has appointed Hon. Uche Kelvin Edeh as his Senior Special Assistant on Research and Strategy, with the appointment attracting commendation from the Enugu Media Village.
The appointment was announced on Wednesday in a statement signed by the Secretary to the Enugu State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia. It marks Edeh’s third major appointment under the Mbah administration within one year, having previously served as State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme (RHWDP) and Enugu East Senatorial Coordinator for APC E-Registration.
Reacting to the appointment, the State Coordinator of Enugu Media Village, Ambassador PraiseGod Edeh, congratulated Ede, whom he described as his “Boss, mentor, and brother in service,” saying the latest responsibility was a well-deserved recognition of his commitment, loyalty, capacity and dedication to public service.
“Sir, this appointment is certainly not a surprise to me. From the very beginning, especially during your previous appointments, I knew that you deserved even more. Your commitment, loyalty, capacity, and unwavering dedication to service have continued to distinguish you,” Edeh said.
He described Edeh’s three appointments within one year as a remarkable demonstration of his consistency, capacity and the confidence placed in him by Governor Mbah.
“Interestingly, within just one year, His Excellency has found you worthy of three significant appointments and responsibilities. You were appointed State Coordinator, Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme (RHWDP), then Enugu East Senatorial Coordinator, APC E-Registration, and now this latest appointment as Senior Special Assistant on Research and Strategy.
“This makes it three major appointments at a stretch within one year, and honestly, it is a remarkable testimony to your capacity, consistency, and the confidence reposed in you,” he stated.
Edeh also praised Governor Mbah for recognising competence and creating opportunities for capable individuals to contribute meaningfully to the development of Enugu State.
“I must also commend our dear Governor, His Excellency Barrister Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for recognising competence and giving people the opportunity to serve where their abilities can make meaningful contributions. His commitment to the transformation and development of Enugu State continues to speak for itself,” he said.
According to him, Edeh’s new assignment would provide an even broader platform for him to advance his passion for youth empowerment, technological advancement, research, innovation and sustainable development.
“Your passion for youth empowerment, technological advancement, research, innovation, and sustainable development will certainly not diminish. Rather, I believe this new responsibility will provide an even greater platform for you to increase the tempo and positively impact the multitude you carry along,” Edeh stated.
He further emphasised the importance of measuring leadership by impact rather than the positions occupied.
“Leadership is not merely about occupying positions. It is about carrying people, creating opportunities, solving problems, and leaving footprints that time cannot erase. You have continued to demonstrate that spirit,” he said.
Edeh prayed for greater wisdom, strength, favour and success for Ede in his new assignment.
“Once again, congratulations, Sir, on this remarkable appointment and on three major appointments within one year. May God grant you greater wisdom, strength, favour, and the grace to excel in this new assignment.
“More to come, Sir. More wins, more responsibilities, more impact, and greater heights ahead,” he added.
Edeh’s appointment comes as the Mbah administration continues to emphasise research, innovation, technology and strategic planning as key components of its development agenda for Enugu State.
