The Enugu Job Centre, an initiative of the Enugu MSME & Startup Agency (Enugu SME Centre), has facilitated the placement of more than 5,000 young people into employment within the last quarter, as the state intensifies efforts to bridge the gap between skills acquisition and sustainable employment.
The Centre disclosed this in a statement, noting that its interventions are designed to connect jobseekers with credible employment opportunities while equipping them with the practical skills required to compete effectively in today’s labour market.
The initiative caters to fresh graduates, unemployed youths, experienced professionals seeking new opportunities, artisans and residents interested in acquiring marketable skills.
According to the Centre, beneficiaries have access to verified job listings, job-matching and referral services, professional CV review and writing, career guidance, interview preparation, recruitment support and practical skills development.
It also provides business-development support for aspiring entrepreneurs seeking to turn their skills and ideas into viable businesses.
The Centre urged jobseekers and residents seeking career advancement to take advantage of its services rather than remain idle while waiting for opportunities.
“Your next opportunity could begin here. Register today,” the Centre urged, encouraging interested persons to register on the Enugu Jobs platform.
It said the initiative was part of the administration of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s broader commitment to creating pathways from skills acquisition to employment, income generation and shared prosperity.
“Under the leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, we are creating pathways from skills to jobs, from jobs to income, and from income to shared prosperity,” the statement said.
The Centre advised interested residents to register through www.enugujobs.ng or contact it on 07036596085 and 08142590543. Enquiries can also be sent to [email protected].
For those requiring physical assistance, the Enugu Job Centre is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at No. 2A Market Garden Avenue, opposite SME Roundabout, Ebeano Tunnel, GRA, Enugu.
The initiative reaffirmed its message to jobseekers under its “Tomorrow Is Here” campaign, urging residents to take deliberate steps towards their next job, skill or career breakthrough.
