The Enugu State Government has announced a subsidised four-month practical training programme in solar technology aimed at equipping residents with skills to take advantage of the growing demand for renewable energy technicians.
The programme, known as the Enugu Green Tech Training Accelerator (EGTTA), was announced in a public notice issued on Friday, August 28, 2026.
Participants will receive hands-on training in Solar PV design, load calculations, inverter configuration and lithium battery systems, with the initiative designed to prepare beneficiaries for employment, paid installation jobs and entrepreneurship in the renewable energy sector.
The training fee has been reduced to ₦100,000, from the original ₦250,000, representing a 60 per cent subsidy.
The government said participants unable to pay the fee upfront can access zero-interest Human Capital Development Loan (HCDL) options to help finance their training.
According to the organisers, the programme will equip participants with practical skills they can use to secure employment, undertake paid solar installation projects or establish their own solar businesses.
