The Enugu State Government has opened applications for a four-month practical training programme designed to equip young people with technical skills for Nigeria’s emerging electric vehicle (EV) industry.
The training is being offered under the Enugu Green Tech Training Accelerator (EGTTA), an initiative aimed at preparing participants for employment, technical services, freelancing and business opportunities in the growing green-technology sector.
According to the organisers, the programme will provide participants with hands-on knowledge of EV architecture and systems, diagnostics, energy management and industry-aligned technical skills, while also connecting them to an expanding green-tech network.
The training fee has been heavily subsidised from ₦400,000 to ₦150,000, representing a 62.5 per cent reduction for successful applicants.
Organisers said participants who may be unable to pay the fee upfront can also access zero-interest Human Capital Development Loan (HCDL) options to support their participation.
The programme is designed to respond to the increasing adoption of electric vehicles and the corresponding demand for technicians capable of maintaining, diagnosing and managing EV systems.
Participants are expected to acquire practical skills that can position them for jobs, technical services, freelance assignments and entrepreneurial opportunities within the EV ecosystem.
Interested applicants can apply through the official EGTTA application portal: www.enugusme.en.gov.ng/egtta.
