The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday, saying the operatives also recovered a shiny metallic lighter designed to resemble a pistol.

According to Ikenga, the object was allegedly used by the teenager to threaten and dispossess a female hotel guest of her mobile phone and other personal belongings.

The police spokesperson added that the suspect allegedly confessed during interrogation to using the recovered object to threaten victims during robbery operations.

Following the arrest, the command said it had intensified investigations and launched efforts to apprehend the two fleeing suspects, recover the stolen phone and other valuables, and prosecute all persons found culpable.

Ikenga said the police remained committed to maintaining security across the state and bringing those involved in criminal activities to justice.

The latest arrest comes as the command continues its security operations aimed at preventing criminal activities and apprehending suspected offenders across Anambra State.
