The traditional ruler of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, His Royal Highness, Igwe Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna Jnr, has congratulated Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah on his conferment of an Honorary Doctor of Law Degree by the University of East London, United Kingdom.
Igwe Ogbonna, the Ubaojene II of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom, conveyed his congratulations in a statement issued to newsmen in Enugu on Sunday.

The monarch described the honorary doctorate as a recognition of Governor Mbah’s commitment to education, hard work, leadership and service to humanity.
He said the Governor’s journey from being a law student at the University of East London to becoming a lawyer, successful entrepreneur and Governor of Enugu State was an inspiring demonstration of the value of education, determination and purposeful leadership.
According to him, the honour was particularly significant given the Governor’s background at the institution, where he had previously studied law.
Igwe Ogbonna also commended the Mbah administration for its focus on education, skills development, innovation and the welfare of young people, saying the initiatives reflected what he described as a clear vision for the future of Enugu State.
In his words, “I warmly congratulate the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, on the conferment of an Honorary Doctor of Law Degree by the University of East London, United Kingdom. This great honour is a recognition of a life of hard work, education, leadership and service.”
He added: “The journey from a law student at the University of East London to a lawyer, successful entrepreneur and Governor of Enugu State is a source of inspiration to many. The strong attention which your administration has given to education, skills development, innovation and the welfare of young people is sign of a clear vision for the future of Enugu State.”
The traditional ruler further said the honorary degree underscored the importance of education, perseverance and service to society, while praying for continued wisdom and strength for the Governor.
“This honour also shows the value of education, determination and service to humanity. I pray that Almighty God will continue to grant the Governor wisdom, good health and strength to lead Enugu State and contribute positively to the development of Nigeria,” he stated.
Igwe Ogbonna described the conferment as a well-deserved honour and expressed optimism that Governor Mbah would continue to record greater achievements in the service of the people.
“Once again, I extend my heartfelt congratulations on this well deserved honour. May there be many more honours and greater achievements in the service of the people,” he said.
