The Youth Wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Enugu State Chapter, has rallied behind the Federal Character Commissioner representing Enugu State, Hon. Peter Eze, commending his reported efforts to connect young people with opportunities in education, employment, skills development and entrepreneurship.
The commendation was contained in a statement dated October 15, 2026, jointly signed by the State Youth Leader, Ahanonu Raymond Odinaka, the Secretary, Nnalue Okafor and the Assistant State Youth Leader, Ekene Ugwuanyi, on behalf of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing, Enugu State Chapter.
The youth leaders praised Eze following the Peter Eze Youth Connect 2026, describing the initiative as a platform that brought young people closer to opportunities that could positively affect their education, careers and livelihoods.
According to them, the programme demonstrated that public service could be used to create tangible opportunities for young people rather than being limited to speeches and political engagements.
“That is what genuine youth empowerment should look like. It should not end with a handshake or a photograph. It should leave a young person with something tangible — a scholarship, a skill, an opportunity, a connection, a job pathway, knowledge or renewed hope,” the statement said.
The Ohanaeze Youth Wing said the initiative was particularly significant because many young people miss opportunities due to lack of timely information about scholarships, grants, fellowships, training, employment and other programmes.
The group commended Eze for using his position as Federal Character Commissioner to bring information about available opportunities closer to young people in the state.
The signatories said access to such information could make a difference to graduates seeking employment, students pursuing scholarships, entrepreneurs searching for opportunities and young professionals looking to advance their careers.
“As the Youth Wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Enugu State, we recognize that initiatives such as this contribute to the collective development of our people. We therefore, extend our sincere appreciation to Hon. Peter Eze for demonstrating that the concerns of young people can be placed at the center of public service. We commend his vision, his accessibility and his commitment to creating pathways through which young people can encounter opportunities.”
The youth organisation also congratulated beneficiaries of the Peter Eze Youth Connect 2026, urging them to maximise the opportunities while using their achievements to create pathways for others.
“The future belongs to the youth, the future of Enugu cannot be separated from the future of its young people,” the statement said.
Odinaka and Ugwuanyi further commended Eze’s role in the initiative, saying the impact of public service should ultimately be measured by the lives positively affected.
“To Hon. Peter, we salute your courage, vision and commitment. Your efforts have reminded us that leadership is not about how loudly one speaks, but about how many lives one positively influences. The success the Peter Eze Youth Connect 2026 is therefore worthy of commendation and celebration. We encourage you not to relent.”
The Ohanaeze Youth Wing pledged continued support for initiatives aimed at improving the welfare, education, empowerment and future prospects of young people in Enugu State.
The signatories described the beneficiaries of Eze’s interventions as evidence that youth-focused public service could produce lasting impact, urging him to sustain the engagement.
