Nollywood actor Chijioke Temidayo Nwokafor, popularly known as Cjay, has died, while his colleague, Rykardo Agbor, has survived a serious car accident in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Cjay’s death was announced by actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday in an Instagram post on Wednesday, where she disclosed that she was at the hospital where the actor was confirmed dead.
The actress, however, did not disclose the circumstances surrounding Cjay’s death.
In an emotional tribute accompanying a video from the hospital, Nkechi wrote: “Cjay this was never the plan💔💔 Guys unfortunately I won’t be dropping my movie anymore!! This one pain me.”
Cjay, a native of Awka, Anambra State, was based in Lagos and began his professional acting career in Nollywood in 2021.
He featured in several movies, including Larry Cold, Mum Overnight, A Day To My Wedding, The Lies She Tell and What Time Left.
Meanwhile, Agbor disclosed that he survived a serious car crash in Ibadan through a post on his Instagram account.
The Yoruba-language actor shared footage of the damaged vehicle and accident scene, expressing gratitude to God for sparing his life.
The accident reportedly occurred around the Cornerstone City billboard area along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ibadan.
Details surrounding the cause of the crash and whether other people were involved had not been disclosed as of the time of filing this report.
Agbor, in a message accompanying the footage, thanked God for preserving his life following the accident.
