The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, has pledged to attract more than ₦2 trillion in private-sector investment into the state within six months if elected governor in 2027.
Odii, a businessman and Chairman of Orient Global Group, made the pledge on Thursday, October 15, 2026, while appearing on Arise Television’s The Morning Show in Lagos, where he outlined his economic vision for transforming Ebonyi into an investment and industrial hub.

He said the proposed investment drive would leverage his more than two decades of private-sector experience, extensive business connections and policies designed to unlock the state’s economic potential.
According to the PDP candidate, Ebonyi possesses significant but underutilised economic opportunities in solid minerals, real estate, manufacturing, hospitality and industrial development.
“I have a very large network of people, friends. Some of them are businessmen, they’re entrepreneurs,” Odii told Arise TV.
He disclosed that he had more than 2,000 business contacts within and outside Nigeria, many of whom, he said, could be encouraged to invest in Ebonyi if the state offered an enabling environment and attractive returns.
“I’ll come up with policies. I’ll create an enabling environment that will make these people to come in and put their money because they want to make profit,” he said.
Odii maintained that investors were primarily motivated by profit and argued that his proposed administration would prioritise ease of doing business, investor-friendly policies and security to attract businesses seeking opportunities beyond major commercial centres such as Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.
He identified solid minerals as one of Ebonyi’s most promising investment sectors, while highlighting real estate, manufacturing, industrial clusters and hospitality as other areas that could benefit from the proposed investment programme.
When pressed by the programme’s presenters on the feasibility of attracting ₦2 trillion within six months and his track record in securing investments of that scale, Odii pointed to his business career and experience building enterprises.
He said he rose from being a small trader to becoming Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Orient Global Group, which has interests in the manufacturing of raw materials, processing and trading of industrial and oil-and-gas chemicals.
He also cited his involvement with Optimus Holdings, which operates in construction, real estate and related businesses, as evidence of his experience across sectors he hopes to develop in Ebonyi.
The businessman argued that his experience establishing businesses and dealing with multinational companies had equipped him with an understanding of the conditions investors require before committing funds to an economy.
He expressed confidence that purposeful leadership and business-oriented governance could reduce Ebonyi’s dependence on the civil service and position the state as a major industrial and investment destination in the South-East.
However, the ₦2 trillion investment target remains Odii’s campaign pledge, and its achievement would depend on investors’ willingness to commit funds and the implementation of the policies he has proposed.
