President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will personally campaign in 12 states ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with Kaduna State scheduled to host the flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign on October 24.

The APC released its campaign timetable on Thursday, outlining the states Tinubu is expected to visit and those where other party leaders will represent him as the ruling party intensifies its mobilisation for his re-election.

After the campaign flag-off in Kaduna, Tinubu is scheduled to visit Rivers State on November 7, Plateau on November 14 and Oyo on November 21.

The President will also attend campaign rallies in Borno on November 25, Enugu on November 28 and Bauchi on November 29.

In December, Tinubu is expected to campaign in Sokoto on December 5, Delta on December 12 and Kano on December 17.

His final scheduled appearances will be in Adamawa on January 4, 2027, and Lagos on January 9.

According to the timetable, Tinubu will personally attend rallies in 12 of Nigeria’s 36 states, while other APC leaders will represent him in the remaining states.

States Tinubu Will Not Visit in November

The APC timetable lists 13 states where rallies are scheduled for November without Tinubu’s personal attendance.

They are Cross River on November 2, Gombe on November 3, Nasarawa on November 4, Ekiti on November 5, Ebonyi on November 9, Jigawa on November 10, Ondo on November 11, Edo on November 12, Yobe on November 16, Kebbi on November 17, Akwa Ibom on November 18, Anambra on November 19 and Benue on November 30.

Party leaders are also expected to represent the President at rallies in 12 other states scheduled for December.

Tinubu Explains Decision to Skip Some Rallies

Tinubu’s decision to attend only selected campaign rallies follows his remarks at the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday.

The President said he would not attend every rally, stressing that governance remained a priority. He, however, promised to make time to address Nigerians directly as party leaders take the campaign to states and local government areas across the country.

On Tuesday, the APC announced an expanded list of members of its presidential campaign council, including Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

Opposition Figures in Three States on Tinubu’s Itinerary

Three states on Tinubu’s campaign schedule — Oyo, Bauchi and Adamawa — have political links to prominent opposition figures ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde is the presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), which is also the ruling party in Bauchi State.

Adamawa is the home state of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The APC’s timetable sets out the ruling party’s planned campaign engagements ahead of the 2027 election, with Tinubu scheduled to make personal appearances in selected states while other party leaders lead rallies elsewhere.
