FULL LIST: Wike’s Rainbow Coalition Unveils 2027 Candidates

The Rainbow Coalition, spearheaded by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has unveiled its candidates for various elective positions in Rivers State ahead of the 2027 general elections, with nominees drawn from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The candidates are contesting the governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and Rivers State House of Assembly seats, alongside the presidential ticket listed by the coalition.

The unveiling ceremony was held in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, where Governor Siminalayi Fubara presented the APC flag to Wike’s ally, Hon. Ogundu Kingsley Chinda, as the party’s governorship candidate.

Fubara also declared Wike the political leader of Rivers State, urging those who had continued to refer to the minister as his leader during the political crisis in the state to stop doing so.

“Those that called me my leader during the crises, please stop calling me my leader; we have a common leader now, which is His Excellency, Chief Nyesom Wike,” the governor said.

Among the APC’s House of Representatives candidates unveiled were Hon. Cyril Godwin Hart for Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency; Hon. Jack Isobo Solomon for Akuku-Toru/Asari-Toru; Hon. Linda Somiari-Stewart for Okrika/Ogu-Bolo; and Hon. Frederick Boma Apiafi for Andoni/Opobo-Nkoro.

Others are Hon. Felix Uche Nwaeke for Eleme/Tai/Oyigbo; Hon. Dumnamene R. Dekor for Khana/Gokana; Rt. Hon. Martin C. Amaewhule for Obio/Akpor; and Hon. Blessing C. Amadi for Port Harcourt II.

The PDP candidates on the list include Kelechi G. Nwogu for Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency, Arthur O. Uchendu for Ikwerre/Emohua, and Abiniko Okogbule-Wonodi for Port Harcourt I.

The event brought together political stakeholders aligned with the Rainbow Coalition, which is seeking to coordinate candidates across the two parties ahead of the 2027 elections.
