Rivers Women Unite Organization and the Central Planning Committee of the Women Converge have commended the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, for their roles in promoting peace and reconciliation among political leaders in the state.
The organisations also congratulated candidates unveiled by the Rainbow Coalition, expressing hope that the emerging political understanding would strengthen unity and reduce tensions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The groups made their position known during their monthly prayer session in Port Harcourt on Thursday, October 29, 2026, according to a statement signed by their Communications Officer, Comrade Glory Sunday.
They reaffirmed their solidarity with Fubara, noting that they had consistently supported his decisions and welcomed efforts to restore unity within the political family for the overall progress of Rivers State.

Meanwhile, the groups have announced that the 2026 Women Converge will hold on November 26 at the Main Bowl of the Alfred Diete-Spiff Civic Centre, Port Harcourt.
The annual interfaith gathering, themed “The Woman in an Evolving World: Her Vision, Voice and Influence,” is expected to attract women from different backgrounds, religious leaders and other participants for prayers, praise, thanksgiving, reflection and fellowship.
According to Sunday, the programme will feature prominent ministers of God and gospel music artistes, including Rev. Prof. Mosy Madugba of the Minister’s Prayer Network, Pastor Dr. Eno Jerry Eze of the Women Prayer Network, Minister Preye Odede and Chioma Jesus, among others.

Other activities lined up for the event include trade and skills exhibitions, as well as special recognition for individuals whose contributions have made significant impacts.
The organisations said the convergence would also provide an opportunity to pray for peace, growth and development in Rivers State, Nigeria and families across the country.
They called on women and other interested participants within and outside Rivers State to attend, expressing confidence that the gathering would strengthen faith, unity and collective commitment to a peaceful and prosperous society.
