The statement of former South African leader, Thabo Mvuyelwa Mbeki, that xenophobic attacks currently going on in South Africa are not targeted at legitimate Nigerian Workers or Businessmen, but “Nigerian criminals” has continued to generate reactions from Nigerians who sees the statement as “great disappointment.”

Lending his voice to the matter, the former Minister of aviation, Chief Femi Fani Kayode described the statement of the former South African President as “filth, Foul and vile”

Chief Kayode who expressed his opinion via his twitter handle agreed with Oppenheimer who said Nigerians would regret liberating South Africans.

His tweet reads;

“You are nothing but filth. Foul and vile in all your ways. My old friend Oppenheimer, a white South African, was right when he said we would regret liberating you!”

Recall that JOURNALIST101 had published a video showing Thabo Mbeki supporting the actions of his countrymen.

In the video, Mbeki said; “There’s no South African that goes about chasing Nigerians because they are Nigerians. It doesn’t exist!.

“But when they see those ones that feeds their children with drugs, they report to the police and when the police doesn’t do anything. Then, the community takes laws into their hands, that will happen. It is incorrect to read that as being an offensive against Nigerians”
