The wife of the President, Aisha Buhari has explained why she stayed out of the country for more than six weeks.
The FirstLady left the was reported to have left Nigeria for Saudi Arabia in the month of August and from there, she went to the United Kingdom.
Mrs. Buhari who left the Queen’s country yesterday arrived Nigeria in the early hours of Sunday.
Her absence gave room for a whole lot of rumours.The latest of such is the recent false report by some online news portals that the cabals has picked another woman to be the second wife of the president.
Explaining why she was away, Mrs Buhari said she went to take a “well deserved rest.”
Suleiman Haruna, her spokesman in a statement, confirmed that the first lady arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 4.30am via a British Airways flight.
According to the statement, she addressed a gathering of reporters awaiting her arrival.
The First Lady said she was happy to be home after a well-deserved rest.
She also confirmed that she was fully rejuvenated to continue the work of improving the health and well-being of women, children, and other vulnerable Nigerians while she was away.
Aisha used the opportunity to thank her husband, President Muhammadu Buhari, as well as family and well-wishers for their support and encouragement while she was away.
She was received at the airport by wives of present and former and governors and many associates among others.
