ENUGU— THE Enugu State Police Command of the Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the donation of 65 patrol security vehicles to the Command by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

Recall that Ugwuanyi had on Tuesday handed to the Command, the 65 patrol vans which was part of the 100 units of Innoson vehicles recently purchased by the state governments to aid security operations in the state.

In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ebere Amaraizu, the State Command noted that the donated 65 security patrol vehicles to Enugu State Police Command was to further boost its operations and needs for effective security of life and property in the state.

He added, “According to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, there are patrol vehicles also procured for other security agencies to boost their operations in the state.

“Receiving the patrol vehicles on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, the State Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Abdurrahman expressed happiness over the gesture and promised not to take it for granted but to deploy the vehicles according to the areas of its need to serve its purpose of crime prevention detection as well as protection of life and property.

“He also warn drivers of the vehicles to ensure proper care and handling of the patrol vehicles. He also warn officers not to convert the vehicles for personal use but to use it for the benefit of the good people of the state and to justify this governor’s gesture through giving effective security.”
