Fidelity Advert
Hon. Jubrin

Hon. Abdulmumin Jibril, the member representing Kiru/Bebeji Constituency has been sacked by the Court of Appeal and a fresh election ordered.

The appellate court annulled the results of the election in the two local governments on the grounds that the final result contained in Form EC (8)E was mutilated.

In the judgment delivered on Friday, Justice Ajoke Adepoju, said since the result was mutilated any presumption on the actual result was a hearsay.

It will be recalled that the election petition tribunal had on September 12th, affirmed the election of Mr Jibrin of APC as the member representing Bebeji/Kiru Federal constituency of Kano State in the February 27, 2019 election.

In a unanimous judgment, the tribunal chaired by Justice Nayai Aganaba unanimously dismissed the petition filed by Aliyu Datti Yako and the PDP challenging the victory of Jibrin as winner of the election.

The tribunal held that the petitioners failed to prove the allegations as contained in their petitions against the respondents.

Mr Yako and his party, PDP, had dragged Mr Jibrin, his party, APC and INEC before the tribunal, challenging the result of the Bebeji/Kiru Federal Constituency election over alleged irregularities.

Hon. Jibrin was very instrumental in the emergence of Femi Gbajabiamila as the Speaker of the Green Chambers so much more that when the list of the committee chairmen was released and he didn’t make it to chair any committee, so many questions were asked.
