…informs him about their forthcoming Summit.

In furtherance to their forthcoming ‘Youth Summit,’ the leadership of Agbaja Youths General Assembly, AYGA, visited the Senator Representing Enugu West Senatorial Zone and the former Deputy President of the Senate, Prof. Ike Ekweremadu in his Enugu residence over the weekend.

The president of the youth organization, Comr. Ebube Nebo told Senator Ekweremadu that the reason for the visit is to intimate him about their forthcoming Youth Summit which is centered on Security and with strong partnership with Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices, POCACOV and will be taking place on the 16th of November, 2019 at Udi LGA Headquarters.

“We are here today, His Excellency, to tell you about our forthcoming Summit. Though we aren’t happy that you didn’t come for last year’s edition despite our efforts to reach you, you are our Father and that’s why we are here again today and we are sure you will continue to be a father to us.”

“We are here with all the executives of AYGA and the 40 ward coordinators from the 40 wards in Udi/Ezeagu that made up the present day Agbaja land to invite you to this years’ event as; a father, leader and Special guest on that day.

“We are talking about insecurity because we understand the import of securing our environment and SP. Ebere Amaraizu will be our Keynote Speaker,” he said.

In his response, Sen. Ekweremadu apologized for his absence in their last summit emphasizing that political activities was at its peak and they were like people in “pressure cooker.”

He commended the group for organizing themselves properly to achieve a common goal and expressed his happiness that they are following the footsteps of their forefathers as Enugu West is the most sophisticated in terms of pedigree and he would have been disappointed if they weren’t as organized as they are now.

He appreciated the initiative of AYGA to talk about security at this point in time. According to Ekweremadu; “For those of us in leadership position, we have to make sure there’s a future for people like you and things that are happening now is very worrisome and one of them is the issue of security thus it’s good you are talking about it and I am happy to identify with it.”

He charged them to take the issue of security more seriously as it’s in the hands of the youths as they are the ones responsible for insecurity in the society.

He assured them he will do all within his power to support them in the forthcoming summit eand advised them to be law abiding as their age is very tempting and what they do know could be used against them in the future.
