…To get copies of POCACOV moral guide book for schools and colleges to deepen orientation against cultism and other vices

The advent of Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) which is the initiative of the Inspector General of Police IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu NPM, mni is a welcome development as it conforms with the ideas of seeking new remedies in resolving issues in line with the tenets of community oriented policing and away from the core law enforcement approach.

The POCACOV Team led by SP Ebere Amaraizu and represented by the Admin officer POCACOV, Igwe kyrian, on Monday 16th December visited the Enugu state government and presented twenty five thousand copies of the POCACOV moral guide book; “Nigerian youth in cultism and other vices.”

The books were received by the Hon commissioner for education Enugu state prof Uche Eze on behalf the the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His excellency, Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

NIGERIAN YOUTH IN CULTISM AND OTHER VICES” is a publication of Police Campaign Against Cultism And Other Vices (POCACOV).

In his presentation of the book to the Hon Commissioner for education Enugu state Prof Uche Eze, POCACOV National Coordinator, SP Ebere Amaraizu represented by the admin officer POCACOV Igwe. Kyrian assured that Nigeria Police Force through its campaign against cultism and other vices POCACOV will continue to sensitize and involve different stakeholders and to galvanize their support towards reducing the menace of cultism and other vices in the country.

He further thanked the state governor for sponsoring the moral guide book which will be distributed to schools and colleges in the state and noted that the book will help to educate our young ones on dangers inherent in crimes like Cultism, Sex-for-grade, rape, gender based violence and other vices amongst others and pointing out that IGP Adamu Abubakar was right on time with POCACOV initiative which has started yielding the expected result.
Responding.

The Honorable Commissioner for Education, Prof Uche Eze on behalf of the executive Governor of Enugu State appreciated the inspector General of police for the POCACOV initiative and commended the Team under the National Coordinator SP Ebere Amaraizu for vigorous sensitization and campaign against cultism and other vices in the state and country at large and noted the cordial relationship and partnership between the state government and the Nigeria police force.

He promise on behalf of the governor of the state and the government to ensure that the books get to the right people/students that it is meant for.

POCACOV is designed by the inspector general of police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu to save Nigerian youths from claws of cultism and other vices and to ensure a safe and secured environment through community oriented approach in line with the tenets of community oriented policing.

The programme has already started its journey of nationwide implementation accross the country in order to further get the desired result and expectation.

The media, nongovernmental bodies, clergies and corporate bodies amongst others are called upon to throw their weight behind this laudable initiative so that the message will continually get to our grass root/communities to save our youth from claws of cultism.
