Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices, POCACOV, has continued to crisscross the entire federation and the message is simple; “to save our youths from the claws of cultism and its related offences.”

In a recent development, the National Coordinator of POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu and his team met with the members and leaders of Anticult Volunteer Corps, AVC, in Asaba, the Delta State Capital on the 17th of January 2020.

The meeting was aimed at consummating a strong partnership that will see the POCACOV and AVC working together to achieve a common goal.

Speaking at the event, the National Coordinator, CSP, Ebere Amaraizu said; “POCACOV is an initiative of the current Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu and it was born out of his desire to reduce cult activities in Nigeria.

“POCACOV is very different from various intervention approaches in the past as it understands the importance of dialogue and engaging the various stakeholders. POCACOV isn’t confrontational but very methodical in disabusing the minds of those intending to join and saving those already involved that wants to be saved,” he said.

In their response, the group appreciated the IGP for the partnership and pledged their readiness to work with POCACOV in all their activities.

“AVC appreciates our IGP for sending the COORDINATOR OF POCACOV for a robust partnership and immense contribution in all campaigns against cultism and AVC future activities aimed at reducing social ills.

“AVC pledge our availability anytime our services are needed to guarantee a safer society and an end to violent cult related activities and crimes in NIGERIA”
