The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared Senator Douye Diri the governor elect of Bayelsa State, following the ruling of the Supreme court on Thursday vitiating votes cast for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress David Lyon.
INEC Chairman Prof Mahmood Yakubu made this known at a brief press conference in ABUJA .
He said the candidate of PDP scored more than 25% of lawful votes cast during the November 16 election following the Supreme Court judgement.
