The President, Board of Trustees, Civil Rights Realization and Advancement Network (CRRAN) Comrade Olu Omotayo has commended the efforts of the inspector General of police IGP Mohammed Abubakar ADAMU through its community oriented programmes which is the key ingredients of proactive policing.
Comrade Olu omotayo made the commendation on Tuesday,14th April, when he paid courtesy visit to the National coordinator of Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) CSP Ebere Amaraizu at the IGP Mohammed Abubakar ADAMU POCACOV Resource Centre Enugu.
According to Omotayo, the Inspector General of police has done well by coming up with a programme called POCACOV which is aimed at saving the Nigerian youths from the claws of cultism and other vices.
“One good thing about POCACOV is that it is anchored on the principles of community oriented policing and involving different stakeholders through awareness creation, sensitizations, re-orientations, engagements and resolution of problems.”
He added that “it is a good initiative though new but I hope that with time and through enlightenment and education, people will appreciate the programme.”
Comr. Omotayo commended the national coordinator and his team at POCACOV and charged him not to relent but persevere in the laudable project.
While commending the Inspector General of police for his quick response at mobilizing intervention forces aimed at restoring normalcy within Lagos and Abeokuta, he also enjoined all to join in this laudable project for a safe and secured environment just as he assured of his organizations continued partnership through consultations and community mobilizations.
In his response, the National coordinator of POCACOV thanked comrade Olu omotayo and assured of his readiness to work with his organization; Civil Rights Realization and Advancement Network for the realization of the set goals of POCACOV.
Highlights of the visit was the formal presentations of campaign materials such as stickers with the inscription ‘say no to cultism and other vices and be a champion’ as well as fliers.
