The Young Fellows Initiative (YFI) in conjunction with the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) has concluded their community sensitization against COVID-19 Pandemic which they started on Thursday, 23rd April, 2020.

The 2-day event which was also supported by Hon Chima obieze representing Ezeagu constituency in the Enugu state House of Assembly had the theme IN TIMES LIKE THIS, BE YOUR BROTHERS KEEPER and featured the distribution of relief materials to some villages in Ezeagu like; Owolloti, Ogbugbuagu-Umeze onyia, Amagu-Ugwuike,Obunagu village, Afor Iwollo Market etc.

The community members were sensitized on the need to be law abiding and to stay safe by adhering strictly to various precautionery measures rolled out by Government and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) which is aimed at containing and curbing the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

Addressing the gathering who maintained the social distancing procedure, the National Coordinator of POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu and the National Coordinator of YFI who also doubles as the /CEO JKING INDEX, Amb Ozor Nwachukwu Uche as well as a Community leader in Ezeagu, Ikechukwu Akpata, all spoke on the need for everyone to be law abiding and to strive to remain safe at all time by keeping to the various measures rolled out to contain and curb the deadly virus.

Some of the villagers expressed their joy and thanked the group on the work of charity and mercy extended to them and prayed God to bless the group and their crew on the gesture in this time of hardship caused by the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

The sensitization campaign and relief material Outreach was culminated at St Theresa Catholic (Discalced Carmelite) Parish Ugbodogwu on Friday, 24th April, 2020 with the priests in charge Rev. Fr. Okorie Chrysosonus and Rev. Fr. Sylvester Itodo and invited indigent members of Ugbodogwu community were present.

Rev. Fr. Sylvester Itodo thanked the Inspector General of Police IGP MA Adamu for coming up with POCACOV Initiative and what pocacov is doing. He also thanked the president of Young Fellows Initiative and his crew for the gesture.

The people were sensitized on COVID-19 and the essence of social distancing and adhering to the various precautionery measures rolled out by the Government and the NCDC to contain and curb the spread of coronavirus in our communities which was followed by the distribution of some relief materials.

Rev Fr Chrysogonus Okorie the parish priest in his goodwill message thanked the National Coordinator of POCACOV CSP Ebere Amaraizu and crew as well as the president of Young Fellows Initiative Amb Ozor Nwachukwu Uche and crew on the corporal work of mercy and helping to reach out to the downtrodden in this time by becoming their brothers keeper and prayed God to strenghten them and bless them and their families for remembering this members of the society.
