The incumbent deputy governor of Ondo State, Agboola Ajayi has lost out in the just concluded primary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for the guber election in the state.

Eyitayo Jegede, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) clinched the party’s ticket ending the quest by the deputy governor to challenge his boss in the October poll

Jegede defeated the deputy governor who defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and six others with 888 votes while Agboola secured 657 votes.

Jegede, was the candidate of the PDP in the last election in 2016 but lost to the incumbent Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Akeredolu won the APC’s ticket for the October poll.
