A famous youth Leader Comr Monday Diamond A (Odoziobodo) has commended the Executive Governor of Enugu State Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi over his sterling performance in the conduct of the Primary Election of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ondo State.
Governor Ugwuanyi was the Chairman of the PDP Primary Election Committee that conducted the most peaceful and transparent primary Election in Ondo State political history and Nigeria in recent time.
Recall that few days ago, the Peoples Democratic Party held its Governorship Primary in Ondo State, the keenly contested Primary Election which was Chaired by the Popular Governor produced Eyitayo Jegede (Former Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Ondo State) as its flag bearer to challenge the incumbent Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of All Progressives Congress.
The Youth Leader who is the National President of Nkanu Youth Council and also,Chairman NANS Presidential Special Task force on COVID-19 Enugu State, commended immensely, Governor Ugwuanyi for his adaptability to Ondo State territorial and political system, display of capacity, coordination, unbiased mind, transparent and peaceful disposition to produce rancor free results and most acceptable candidate.
According to the Youth Leader; “Ondo State is known for Electoral violence, whether Primaries or General Elections, recall what Happened in 1983 between the then Governor Adekunle Ajasin of Awolowo’s Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) and his Deputy Akin Omoboriowo who decamped to Shagari’s National Party of Nigeria (NPN) after an alleged Governorship fraudulent primary in UPN, the post election violence claimed over 70 lives and led to destruction of several properties worth Millions of Naira.
“Governor Ugwuanyi’s central character role in that exercise showed maturity, sagacity and peaceful outing worthy of commendation, hence, the incumbent Deputy Governor of Ondo State Dr Ajayi Agboola who recently decamped to PDP and vied for the party’s ticket against Jegede has accepted defeat and heartily congratulated the Akure born PDP flag-bearer.
“Information revealed that Governor Ugwuanyi’s presence in the sunshine State allured acceptable ambience amongst the Igbos in Ondo State, as well as other tribes, a justification of his acceptability by the Igbos in Diaspora and Nigerians in general; a pointer to the assertion that Ugwuanyi could be an excellent President if destiny calls.
