The attack on police outfits in Enugu continues as a police station is attacked by hoodlums over the weekend.
During the attack, about two persons were reportedly killed while others sustained bullet wounds.
The station; Unity Police Station Ibeagwa, Nike Enugu located along the Enugu/Ugwogo/Opi-Nsukka road was invaded by hoodlums numbering over 20 at about 10PM on Sunday.
A source revealed that during the attack, the police killed two of the hoodlums while 3 policemen sustained various degree of injuries and about 2 police riffles was carted away by the invaders.
The suspected armed robbers reportedly stormed the station and scaled through the police station fence.
There was exchange of fire with the police on duty during which two of the hoodlums were shot dead.
Journalist101 recalls that just a week ago, a police checkpoint was attacked and 2 riffles taken away. This attack is the third on a police outfit in the state in the month of August.
The state police is yet to issue any statement on this development.
