The Nigeria Youth Parliament, Enugu State Chapter has declared their total support for the Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his holistic effort in entrenching peace and unprecedented development of the rural areas in the state.

The youth body made their position known on Friday, 16th October, 2020 when their speaker-elect, national representatives and all principal officers met in Enugu.

The Enugu State Speaker=elect, Hon. Agbo Amos Amadi and the newly appointed Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Mobilization described the gathering as a “holistic one” stating that they want to also use the opportunity to “declare our support for the state government; from the commissioner for youths and sports, Hon. Manfred Nzekwe and ultimately, to the Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.”

“Enugu state is blessed with a wonderful leader who has touched several lives both in the urban and rural areas without making noise.”

Hon. Amadi also thanked the Governor for giving their members and youths in the state the opportunity to express themselves in leadership positions.

“We want to also thank the Governor for finding one of our Majority leader; Hon. Chinedu Okwu Otaka worthy to be in the state House of Assembly as a lawmaker. We also thank the Speaker, Rt. Hon Edward Ubosi for finding Hon. Otaka worthy to chair the House Committee on Youths.

“This is the only Governor that has demonstrated his belief that youths are the future leaders. Today, our former deputy leader, Hon Andy is the Executive Chairman of Igboeze South local government area. What more can we ask for? The speakers of the parliament in Igboeze south and Aninri LGA are technical assistants to the governor and today, he has crowned it all by appointing the Spaeker of Enugu Youth Parliament as one of his Speacial Assistants (youth mobilization).”

Hon. Amos assured that he will use his new office and work with the appropriate quarters to ensure that the activities of all the youth organizations in the state are well coordinated.

Barr. Okechukwu Ani, the Clark of the House thanked Governor Ugwuanyi for giving the youths an enabling environment to thrive in the state.

“We wish to thank the governor for giving the youths the opportunity to express themselves without any fear nor molestation. We also appreciate the peaceful atmosphere the Governor has promoted in the state.

“The parliament was born out of the burning desire to galvernise the potentials of the youths and help them shun all forms of vices.”

Barr. Ani reiterated that the parliament which is a platform created to speak for the youths will continue to speak for them and called on his colleagues to ensure every youth in the nooks and crannies of the state are carried along.

Hon. Ogbuefi Esther, the member representing Enugu West Senatoral zone in the parliament thanked the Governor for finding one of their own worthy to be his aide.

She encouraged the parliament to continue to protect the interest of all their members and also, borrow a leaf from the Governor who’s leaving no stone unturned in transforming the rural areas in the state and protect the youths in the rural areas.

Eulogising the Speaker and the SA to the Governor, Hon. Ogbuefi described him as “a good and humble leader with the heart of gold and filled with wisdom. She assured them of her continuous support.
