The governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has commiserated with the Governor and people of Enugu State over the road mishap that claimed of 20 lives in the state on Wednesday.
A lowbed truck had on Wednesday, rammed into a the school bus of Presentation Nursery and Primary School killing scores and injuring many others at at Awgu local government area of Enugu state.
In a terse statement governor Ikpeazu posted through his twitter account, Governor Ikpeazu also consoled the Catholic community for the huge loss.
“On behalf of Government and good people of Abia State, I wish to sincerely condole with Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Government and the good people of Enugu State over the fatal accident that claimed scores of lives including that of pupils of Presentation Nursery & Pry School in Awgu LGA of the State.
“I also extend my condolences to the Catholic Bishop of Awgu Diocese, operators of the pupils’ school, His Lordship, Most Revd John Okoye, and pray that God will comfort all those affected and accept the souls of the departed.”
