•Assures partnership for effective campaign in Anambra

The State Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Anambra state, Barrister Charles Edozie Nwoji has identified with the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices(POCACOV); the initiative of the Nigeria Police Force under IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, aimed at sensitizing different stakeholders on the dangers of cultism and other vices and saving Nigerian children and youth from its claws for a safer, peaceful and secured society.

Nwoji commended IGP Adamu on the POCACOV initiative which is community driven and proactive, expressing his keen interest in joining hands with POCACOV team in the state to carry out constant enlightenment and sensitization programme activities on the dangers of cultism and other vices and the need for community peace building.

He also expressed satisfaction on the level of sensitization and advocacy program in other parts of the country so far by the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices(POCACOV).

This was made known on 7/12/2020 in the state capital of Awka when the team of POCACOV Volunteer Club for safer school and community led by its State Chairman, Prince Donatus Orjika paid courtesy visit to the state director of NOA in his office as part of their ongoing wider consultations of various stakeholders on the need to be part of the POCACOV programme as well as their partnership to achieve POCACOV set goals in the state and the country in general.

He explained the essence of POCACOV and its programme which is geared towards achieving peace, safety and security and most importantly, galvanizing stakeholders’ support and partnership for youth value reorientation, engagement and strategic leadership direction.

He explained that the POCACOV structure would spread across the communities, schools, markets, and other relevant social bearings aimed at bringing to the bearest minimum the negative effects of cultism, drugs and substance abuse, sexual and gender-based violence, exam malpractices, thuggery and violence and other vices and maintained that POCACOV will work with different stakeholders in the state under the POCACOV community peace building scheme for safer and community partnership.
