Fidelity Advert

The people of Umunnugwu Amechi Uwani community of Enugu state has seriously warned detractors of the State Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development, Hon. Victor Chukwuemeka Nnam, to allow him focus on his call of duty to the governor and the people of the state in general.

The warning was issued on Monday by Umunnugwu General Assembly, at the family Hall of the community, following their processional prayer rally held in honour of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and their son, Nnam who was appointed from the community to serve the people of the state in the capacity of a commissioner.

The group, in particular, strongly condemned what they described as ‘witch-hunting and blackmail’ by Mr. Kingsley Eze, whom they accused of working with enemies of the community to destabilize and bring confusion and disunity among their people.

The community also disclosed that Eze, in his desperate bid to illegally grab and covet some of the lands in their community, has conspired with some agents to blackmail the commissioner and accuse him of alleged forgery of some land documents.

Some of the placards displayed during the procession by community members read, “We stand with Hon. Comm. Dr. Victor Nnam, our Hero; We stand with Gburugburu; Hon. Comm. Dr. Victor C. Nnam should not be sacrificed for Agbana land; Kingsley Eze, beware! Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm; Kingsley Eze stop sabotaging the Gburugburu administration through malicious fabrication of lies against Hon. Dr. Victor C. Nnam,” among others.

According to a statement jointly signed by Chairman of Umunnugwu family, Christopher Okenwa and Secretary, James Ani, the group noted that they “strongly condemn the activities of Mr. Kingsley Eze who have been witch-hunting and blackmailing the Hon. Commissioner as a result of the commissioner’s stand on rule of law and due process in administration of lands in Enugu State.

“We also state categorically that Hon. Dr. Victor Nnam did not forge any document whatsoever as being alleged by Kingsley Eze and Private Estate West Africa.

“The governor’s vision on land administration in Enugu State is clear and so far, our illustrious son Hon. Dr. Victor Nnam as the Hon. Commission for Lands and Urban Development is living up to the expectation and the mandates of his Excellency in checkmating the activities of land grabbers, especially in what we have seen the government undertake in Obeagu and Amechi communities respectively.

“We appreciate His Excellency, the Governor of Enugu State for keeping faith with us since the appointment of our son, Hon. Dr. Victor Chukwuemeka Nnam as the Hon. Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development.

“We hereby pass a vote of confidence on His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Enugu State Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Hon. Dr. Victor Chukwuemeka Nnam the Hon. Commissioner for Lands, and pledge our unalloyed support and solidarity at all times.”
