A front-line Igbo organisation; Greater Igbo Forum has congratulated the new President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Professor George Obiozor who was elected amidst protests and boycott by other candidates.
Dr Kingsman Obinna Chikelu, the Chairman of the forum a terse statement he personally signed on January 11th, expressed confidence that the diplomat will deploy his wealth of experience in uniting the Igbo Nation and help in building bridges between Ndigbo and other parts of the country.
The statement reads;
“Greater Igbo Forum wishes to Congratulate the newly elected President-General of the Apex Igbo social cultural Organization; the Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo, Professor George Obiozor.
“The 78 years old Erudite Professor who hails from Imo State was the former Nigerian Envoy to the United States of America, Israel and Cyprus. He emerged victorious yesterday (10/01/2021) in a keenly contested election, held in Owerri the Imo State Capital.
“Sir, we have no doubt your wealth of experience as an Erudite Scholar and a former diplomat, will pay off greatly in bringing the needed unity among Ndi-Igbo and cement the bond of a friendly relationship with other tribes/ethnic groups in the Nigerian federation.
“Greater Igbo forum wishes you a successful, result oriented tenure in office.
“Congratulations Sir!!!”
