Youths from Enugu West Senatorial zone have called on the Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and the Senator representing the zone at the Nigerian Senate, Professor Ike Ekweremadu to continue to uphold the peace and harmonious cooperation that exists between them as the state is the biggest beneficiary of the situation.
The plea is an offshoot of the LEADERSHIP SUMMIT AND CELEBRATTION OF GOOD
GOVERNANCE AND QUALITY Representation organised by the youths of the zone at De Dome Event Centre on June 4th, 2021.
In the communique issued at the end of the summit, the youths also praised Governor Ugwuanyi for giving the youths a place in his administration and creating a peaceful atmosphere for all political divides to flourish in the state.
The communique which was signed by Comrade Ebube Samuel Nebo, President General/Convener; Ozo Okwu Nnabuike, Secretary General; Hon Israel Ani, Publicity Secretary amongst others, also applauded the Federal lawmakers for quality representation of the zone and also called on them to prioritise youth empowerment, job creation and attraction of economic viable projects
They frowned at the deteriorating security situation in the country and South East stressing that “the gains achieved by this administration in youth involvement in governance and political leadership seems to be threatened by recent insecurity that have engulfed the South East and by extension, Enugu State,” while distancing themselves from any form of criminal activities in the region

COMMUNIQUE AT THE END OF THE ENUGU WEST YOUTH LEADERSHIP SUMMIT AND CELEBRATTION OF GOOD GOVERNANCE AND QUALITY REPRESENTATION HELD AT DE DOME EVENT CENTER ON THE 4TH JUNE, 2021.
We the GREAT youths of the Enugu West Senatorial zone, after extensive and very robust engagements and deliberations availed us by the youths loving Governor of Enugu His Excellency Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Gburugburu), The Distinguish Sen. Prof Ike Ekweremadu CFR, (Ikeoha Ndilgbo), Rt. Hon. Toby Okechukwu, Rt. Hon. Dennis Oguerinwa Amadi and all the members of Enugu State House Assembly from Enugu West held at the Dotee Event Center Enugu on the 4th June, 2021.
The summit appreciates and commend the visionary and doggedness of the convener Comrade Ebube Samuel Nebo, and his team for convoking this all-important Enugu West Youth Leadership Summit and celebration of Good governance and quality representation. We believe that history has just been made. This summit has reawakened the youth’s leadership consciousness, discussions and building strategies for greater involvement of the youths in governance, political leadership, and party administration in our zone, state and country.
The summit appreciates and celebrates the quality leadership of His Excellency Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi Gburugburu. The peace, development, security and freedom we enjoy in Enugu, is a clear testimony of his humane and compassionate leadership. We celebrate you His Excellency.
The summit appreciates and celebrates the quality representation of our able Senator, Sen. Prof. Ike Ekweremadu CFR – Ikeoha Ndilgbo whose quality representation cannot be rivaled. IKEOHA magnanimity cuts across the senatorial district. This is very unprecedented in the Nigeria politics today.
We equally celebrates our beloved, members of House Of Representatives Rt. Hon. Toby Okechukwu and Rt. Hon. Dennis Oguerinwa Amadi. We call them “empowerment champions” and “alert masters”. Indeed, every nooks and crannies of Enugu West feels and celebrates their quality representations.
The summit took time to pass vote of confidence on the Executive Governor of Enugu State His Excellency Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Gburugburu), Ezeudo for his good governance, youth inclusive government and the peace we enjoy in Enugu State.
The summit equally pass vote of confidence on the Distinguished Senator Prof. Ike Ekweremadu CFR – Ikeoha Ndigbo. The face of Ndilgbo at the national assembly and his unwavering support at ail time. The summit intL the same vein, pass their vote of confidence on Rt. Hon Toby Okechukwu member representing Aninri, Awgu and Oji River at the federal House of Representative and Rt. Hon. Dennis Oguwerinwa Amadi member representing Udi/Ezeagu constituency Federal House of Representative for their quality representations.
The summit recognize the unprecedented involvement of the youth at very top levels of governance and political leadership since the inception of this administration both at state and federal levels, in addition to the roles played by the youth development and leadership and democratic transition since 1999.
The summit renewed their support to the administration of His Excellency Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi Gburugburu and federal legislators ably led by Sen. Prof Ike Ekweremadu CFR. We reiterated on our earlier stand that on no account should the youths of Enugu West undermine the leadership quality of His Excellences. Enugu is a peaceful state and that legacy we must sustain.
The summit lament that the gains achieved by this administration in youth involvement in governance and political leadership seems to be threatened by recent insecurity that have engulfed the South East and by extension, Enugu State. We reiterate that violence has never solved any grievance.
The youths of Enugu West dissociates ourselves from any form of violence, banditry, terrorism, kidnapping and other criminal activities of the unknown gun men rampaging the society. We cannot partake in destroying our home.
The summit resolve to aggressively support and work with our Governor His Excellency Rt. Hon Dr Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, federal legislators !§d by Sen. Prof Ike Ekweremadu CFR and state legislative members and maintain decorum in the choice of candidates for all the elective offices during 2023 general elections.
The summit advocates for greater participation of the Enugu West youths in all processes leading particularly to running for elective positions (Not too young to run), party politics and nomination of a candidates for the 2023 election.
The summit encourage our youths to try as much as possible to get or register for voters card, only by that will they be eligible to vote or be voted for.
The summit passionately appeals to our representatives to do more in youth empowerment, job creation and attraction of economic viable projects. We equally call their attention for rapid development of 9th mile urban area and to see a need creating of fly-over at and Akin na Ukwa axis.
The summit appeal to the Governor His Excellency Rt. Hon. Dr, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to open “Gburus Youth Constituency office” in Enugu where all youths can brainstorm, suggest, mobilize, report and interface with the government. This office shall serve as an intermediary center between the huge youths population especially those in the rural areas to have their voices heard. With this office, the youth can easily reach the government and government too can commutate directly to the rural youths effectively.
The summit resolved that the leadership summit will be a yearly program.
In conclusion, the entire youths of Enugu West enjoins the peace loving Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi Gburugburu and Distinguished Sen. Prof. Ike Ekweremadu to continue to maintain the peace, cooperation and love they share. We wish to remind them that the friendship has a long sweet history and thus should not allow anything whatsoever to come in between them. It is pertinent we reiterate here, that their peace and peaceful cooperation is our future. Please His Excellences, secure this future for us.
