Gunmen, suspected to be bandits that has been wrecking havoc in the Northern part of Nigeria has reportedly opened fire on a tanker conveying petrol to the Dansadau axis of Zamfara State.
According to an An eyewitness report, the petrol tanker was attacked along the old military checkpoint which is close to Yargaladima town in Dansadau emirate.
It was gathered that the tanker driver and his aides escaped from the tanke and their whereabouts unknown.
It was further gathered that after attacking the petrol tanker, the ruthless terrorists masquerading as bandits went ahead to attack vehicles like Mitsubishi Canter and other commercial vehicles at the same spot.
“Some of the commuters in the vehicles attacked sustained various degrees of injury while others trekked to Dansadau barefooted due to the tension,” Daily Post quoted an eyewitness.
However, the Police Public Relations Officer of Zamfara Police Command, SP Shehu Muhammad, did not pick calls made to his telephone for comments.
